In 1956, René HAUSSIN acquired a food and delicatessen business in Denain, in the Hauts-de-France region of France. Following renovation work on his business, he suffered physical pain.
A visit to the doctor didn't help, so he decided to turn to plants and their natural benefits. So he changed his diet and his lifestyle: little by little, the results began to make themselves felt, and he was finally at peace. From that day on, he was convinced of the potential of plants!
René HAUSSIN continues to be interested in so-called «soft» alternatives, particularly naturopathy. So passionate was he that he trained to become a naturopath. His first consultations were fruitful and encouraging; he wanted to help people by accompanying them to relieve their everyday ailments.
In 1961, he decided to buy a machine to manufacture flower pollen tablets. This was the birth of SUPERDIET! René HAUSSIN manufactures his first food supplements, sells them in his Denain store, and ships them all over France.
Organic, the essence of the brand
To develop his business, René HAUSSIN innovated and created new products in other galenic forms: capsules and drinkable ampoules.
Long before the general awareness of the benefits of organic farming, he was keen to promote the local origin and chemical-free cultivation of the vegetables and plants used in the manufacture of SUPERDIET products, what is now known as «sustainable agriculture«.
In 1992, the European Organic Regulation was published, enabling us to obtain official certification for the manufacture of our organic food supplements
Naturopathy at the heart of our DNA
Naturopathy dates back to ancient times! It is above all a philosophy of life, a global concept of healthy living, based on respect for a balanced diet.
Naturopathy is a global concept of being, which teaches the individual to take into account all aspects of his or her life: diet, sleep, physical exercise, spiritual and psychological dimensions... Naturopathy also encourages the search for the causes of ailments. Hippocrates, the greatest physician of antiquity, said: «Look for the cause and treat it. Look for the cause of the cause, and treat it».
The naturopath does not cure, but accompanies his patient towards well-being by advising different natural methods, combined within «programs» which will have been defined according to the vitality of the individual.
